How and why did you get into your business?

Just being curious. How and why did you get into your chosen business, whether it's hosting, design or whatever you do?

For me, I've always known I wanted to work for myself. I've been a computer geek for over 22 years Shocked , so I decided to turn my hobby, and all the knowledge I've collected over the years (I'm still learning) into my job. For me, hosting is a natural step in the progression. I seem to have a talent for anything computer related, so this is the direction I chose.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Who's next?

At the age of 7 years old i taught myself HTML,
By the time i was 10 i had taught myself Basic,
At the age of 13 i had played around quite a bit with visual basic,
By the time i was 15 i knew a fair deal of PHP/MySQL/Flash MX

After having played around with these skills for many years of my life, doing freelance work for other people, i finally decided to use these skills usefully and constructed a business.

I started with a reseller account, but quickly decided I needed more than a reseller account offered. I'm a "nuts and bolts" kind of guy, and like the power a dedicated offers.

I started designing because it seemed like an easy way to raise some extra cash. Then i got into the whole community aspect and opened my own website.

Templates didnt really work for me...a client requested some banners once and i really enjoyed the work, plus its less time consuming. The rest is history....

As for my other website, i added a traffic page on banners2go to see if it would sell, turns out it did Smile I just decided to expand the product and launch it under its own unique brand.
