Restore Preview as the default action for image files

Introduction

If you use the Open With.. option and permanently associate a file type with a program, the default context menu action for that file type will be changed to Open. For image files, the Preview option will still be there, but not as the default action.

Setting Preview as the default action

To set Preview as the default action for a particular image file type, try this:

> Open Control Panel, Folder Options applet

> Click the File Types tab

> Scroll down and select the file type from the list.

> Click the Restore button at the bottom

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (Preview verb) now becomes the default action for that Image file type.
