well i am not very sure but Google itself dont have its own directory they use Dmoz so Dmoz editors are Google Directory editors

Go to google directory and you will see sites with PR beside and those are only for sites which are indexed in Dmoz

I think no need of this question really. Google index made by the Software Web Spiders crawling all over the net. It is monitored, but still 80% automated. well Bidhata you are properly wrong and google directly never works on crowling the google search engine and directory is totally diffrent and the directory is totally moderated by moderators and if you want your sites in directory, you need to submit them in DMOZ.org and the moderators will manuallly check your site and index your sites to dmoz directory and the same links are reflected in google directory.

Yes trraju. Basically DMOZ and Google Directory are same. But mainly I was talking about Serch Engine Index. If your site is not submiteed in DMOZ , your site can be listed on Google also. That was only my idea and I think it is not Wrong. Isn't it ?
