Organize Favorites dialog in Internet Explorer displays a &q

Organize Favorites dialog in Internet Explorer displays a "Red X" mark

Symptom

When you click the Organize Favorites sub-menu under Favorites the favorites menu, the Organize Favorites dialog opens, but might display a Red X mark where the Favorites list is to be displayed. This happens due to any of the following reasons:

> Missing Shell Name Space registration.

> Shell Name Space disabled via Manage Add-ons dialog (XP SP2)

> Recent IE cumulative update may have caused this.

Resolution

Login as Administrator (for Windows 2000/XP) or equivalent, and type this command in Start/Run dialog:

regsvr32 /i shdocvw.dll

If you've disabled the following add-on via Manage Add-ons dialog in Windows XP Service Pack 2, re-enable the add-on.
